Mohbad’s father weighs in on Toluwanisings’ burial dispute, urges public to avoid rushing to judgment

The father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has appealed to the public to exercise caution before taking sides in the ongoing family dispute surrounding the burial of late gospel singer Toluwanisings.

In a video shared by Gistloverblog, he expressed sadness over Toluwanisings’ d+ath and used the controversy to raise questions about the values parents pass on to their children.

“Everything we do in this world must be approached with caution. I will not speak directly about the late gospel singer Toluwanisings, whose d+ath has left me deeply saddened. However, I want us to reflect on an important question: What lessons are we teaching our children?” he said.

Referencing one of his songs, Mohbad’s father stressed that parents deserve to enjoy the benefits of the sacrifices they make while raising their children.

“Let the owner of the child reap the reward of their child,” he said, adding that parents who struggle to provide for their children should not be forgotten or neglected.

He also addressed comparisons between the dispute and the controversy surrounding his late son, noting that some families face even more complicated challenges.

“Some people have compared the situation to the case of Mohbad, but there are families whose challenges are even more complicated than what happened in that case. This is why we must be careful about passing judgment on situations we do not fully understand,” he stated.

He further referenced another of his songs, which describes a father wearing rags while his child wears expensive clothes, explaining that children may eventually come to understand the sacrifices their parents made for them.

Speaking specifically about Toluwanisings’ family, he reportedly contrasted the singer’s father’s living conditions with those of his mother-in-law, claiming that the father paid ₦35,000 in rent while the mother-in-law lived in an air-conditioned house.

He also alleged that Toluwanisings’ wife had turned the singer against his family, adding another layer to the ongoing public debate over the burial arrangements.

His comments have added to the reactions surrounding the dispute between Toluwanisings’ widow and relatives, with different voices weighing in on the rights of the bereaved wife and the concerns of the late singer’s family.
